Why replace missing teeth?

When you lose your natural teeth not only does it potentially look unsightly but it can cause bite problems if left untreated. The teeth either side of the space and the teeth on the opposing jaw can slowly drift into this gap. This can cause bite problems.

Replacing a missing tooth with dental implants will help to support the delicate balance of the surrounding teeth and ensure that the bone does not shrink as much in the area where the tooth was lost.

This means that dental implants can be one of the most cost-effective and conservative ways of restoring your smile after losing teeth.

What does the dental implant procedure entail?

We always start with a gentle initial assessment to discuss your options. We will look at dental bridges, dentures and in fact discuss not doing anything at all, as sometimes this is a viable alternative to implants.

If we decide that dental implants are right for you and you would like to go ahead then the procedure is split into 5 stages.

  1. Initial appointment..
  2. Implant planning appointment.
  3. Dental implant placement.
  4. Healing phase.
  5. Replacement of the missing tooth on top of the new dental implant.
