John Townsend is a specialist in oral surgery, working in a large referral practice in South East London. After qualifying from University College Hospital Dental School, London in 1982, he gained extensive experience in hospital and practice-based oral surgery, obtaining his M Surg Dent in 2000.

Along with over 25 years’ experience in the management of surgical cases, John has a particular interest in dental education, lecturing on anatomy at implant training courses, and is a member of the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries. He frequently attends conferences in the UK and abroad, keeping up to date with the constant changes in dental regulation and advanced procedures.

In his spare time, he is a keen yachtsman, often competing in regattas on the South coast.
